I love how fans interpret this song however they lean...
Honestly, I think it's all over the place. Mainly, I think it tackles how [famed] Americans are pseudo-worshipped by other people of the world, but they don't seem to realize this- or that that their goofy stunts have rippling consequences.

Honestly, the cinematography of the music vid alone was beautiful and eyecatching. What's odd is how it shows the very raw people who appreciate the Americans in ways the Americans themselves wouldn't understand, and the Americans are having loads of fun doing what they will, all in good fun.
It's a tad more humorous, a bit more dark, and even a tinch beautiful- in an oddball way- than one would expect.
Definitely one music video that people shouldn't try too hard to understand- or to interpret.
